You can't do that with .tel!
Agreed - the ONLY reason that .tel exists is for the use of the "Data in the DNS" to provide automated software services - Dial/Email/Skype etc by Name is the obvious example - remote control of household appliances (eg CCTV) is another possibility.
There are many more things that COULD be done using the DNS data - with the software service using the latest data content that has been updated remotely by the .tel owner.
Don't just take my word for this being the "raison d'etre" for .tel's existence - read the blog posts of
Henri Asseily - the CTO of both Telnic and Telnames - and he makes this point convincingly.
BUT after 5 YEARS (General Availability 5th anniversary is on 24 March 2014) how many automated software services have actually been created using the DNS Data ?
Thousands ? NO !
Hundreds ? NO !
A few ? NO !
A big fat ZERO is the correct answer - after 5 long years !So Telnic/Telnames - please write a logical reply to my post and explain why you don't consider drastic action is required today - not next month - not next year - but NOW !http://MikeSeaton.tel
