TELcpV3pro - for Surname based tel directories TELcpV3pro - for Surname based tel domain directory builders We are pleased to announce that we have developed a new TELcp based solution for building Surname based .tel directories. This is a customization of the Existing TELcpV3.0 to meet the requirements of individual tel profiles. It has all the features of TELcpV3.0. Minus Text Ads and Image Ads. Plus Three different Individual Profiles (work/home/vacation) for each tel page. We are now testing it for providing third party payment gateways (PayPal/2CO/Moneybookers/AuthorizeNet etc) that can be hosted elsewhere (independent from TELcpV3pro site which is to be hosted by us most probably at www.teluser.com, just like telcp.com and telcp.org, with outgoing billing info links from telpages of each teldomain) by tel domain Owners. This way tel domain owners can host their tel domains with TELcpV3pro for telpage management by tel Users and collect money for rentals at their own billing/payment collecting site (we can help you on this too). We removed the Text Ads and Image Ads features to reduce the bandwidth consumption at our hosted site to lower our fees. Also having three different profiles will have less regular activities of changing contact details (thus reducing further bandwidth consumption and reducing updating time/work for the end user). We can also automate this changing of profiles at a given time (one the Hour) of the day by initial setup by the end user (tel User). When this action is automated, the system will automatically change your profiles from work->home->work->vacation etc. The advantages are as follows. 1)No regular updating by tel Users (Zero work for the end user), only initial setting up. 2)Less load on Telnic servers as far as throttling is concerned. 3)Less bandwidth for TELcpV3pro site, therefore our hosting fees will be less. We have not yet finalized the launching date. Stay tuned for further updates on this thread or follow us on Twitter. Cheers! |
I can see one person is single-handedly buying up surname .tel domains. Mark |
Upon further investigation, all 1,000 of the most popular surnames in the USA are represented by a .tel domain. Three people own 44% of these domains, (roughly 200,140,100). Two people own 20-30 domains each. A dozen own 5-15 last names. All the rest are owned by individuals. So I can't see surname-based directories being a popular product except for those first three people, and not without a big marketing effort. Mark |

Be interesting to see how the 3 people owning 44% of the surname domains plan to market the FirstName.Surname.tel concept to "Joe Public". Until the trade (in particular High/Main Street mobile phone shops) are both aware of and push .tels to their customers how will there be a demand for anything .tel from the public ? Don't get me wrong, I very much like the idea of Surname.tel generating revenue as maybe 100+ FirstName.Surname subdomains - but without marketing at a national and international level (expensive but very necessary) how can you expect the public to buy into the .tel idea ? I wish TELcp every success with this niche which is a great idea - the problem is that the lack of .tel awareness/desire by "Joe Public" is the hurdle that first of all needs desperately to be overcome so that the efforts of the developers on this forum are not in vain. Simple as that really ! Mike Seaton[/size] |
Well, it is the "Core Concept" of the .tel we plan to market. NOT the .tel, Cheers! |
Start it from your own home! Anyone with a surname based .tel domain can join this marketing campaign. In fact you don't need any third party solutions to maintain 100 or even 500 names. First distribute sub domains free of charge amongst all your family members and relatives who use the same surname. Let them use it in their visitor/biz cards make your tel domain popular. Gradually many people will come to know about this. Then you can start selling to outsiders. You can get their details by phone or email. Charge only a very reasonable fee for this service. This is one way you can start from your home. Don't you think millions of retired persons can start this now and pass it over to a son or grandson later on? Do you think millions of housewives, who often try to sell items from mail order catalogues, cannot do this? If they have a little knowledge of using a computer to surf the net and to fiddle with their smartphones, then they can do this. Start the marketing campaign from your own home! Home -> Family -> Relatives -> Friends -> Friends of Friends -> Others ->>> |
