What's happened to the font size on the forum postings etc. today ?

It's definitely smaller than normal and not so comfortable to read !

Can we have it back as it was please ?

    Is it better so?

I'm just experimenting with a better look for the design of this forum.

    Feedback is always welcome!

IMO the look and ease-of-use of the forum was better before the changes made today.

Mainly I adjusted the colors and the design of several components, made more command buttons available, optimized the structure of the forum and several subfunctions, expanded several input forms and a few things more.

I can adjust everything again to the user’s wishes.

    What other users think?

Suggestions for forum improvements Empty Missing Edit Button

Post by mikeseaton 2012-07-02, 11:01 am

Although I am logged-in, my posts now only show a "Quote" button, what's missing is the "Edit" button !

    http://MikeSeaton.tel

PS. What seems to be happening is the "Edit" button remains for a period after initial posting, then disappears so no future edits are possible.

Please, make the window, which we use for writing posts here, bigger. Now it is too narrow. It is not comfotarble for writing and reading while writing.

There are two kinds of windows:

1.) A small window under each topic

2.) A bigger window after clicking "post reply" with a lot more options for text adjusting

The second provides also a chronically history of the topic backwards (by scrolling down). Does this fit your needs?

Yes, in Firefox both windows have the same height.

In Chrome and Safari the second window has twice the height.

If I'll find a way, I'll adjust it.

    Oh, I'm sorry!

I've increased the height to 500 pixels, but indeed Firefox is ignoring the CSS specification.

At the moment I'm not sure when I'll find a solution for Firefox.

Chrome and Safari are working fine.

The font size on http://www.TelTalk.org posts has this evening just got smaller (viewed on Windows PC running IE 8).

Please put it back as it was - it was more comfortable to read then than it is now !

It's gone from being smaller this evening to slightly bigger than usual.

I thought it was alright left alone - can you not set it back to whatever value it has been for the last few months ?

I can only switch between 13 pixels (= 10 points) and 14 pixels (= 10.5 points). Less is too small; more is too big.

The setting was 13 pixels during the last months. I didn't change it knowingly before your note.

With my last post I switched to 14 pixels; now it is 13 pixels again. What do you prefer?

Sorry, I needed a little bit time for this, because usually I don't use Firefox.

The correct box size in the reply box doesn't show, because WYSIWYG is on in Firefox on your computer.

Please turn it off by clicking the Suggestions for forum improvements Switch_wysiwyg button. The correct size will appear immediately.

I do not want to create one more new topic, but wanted to ask, what is a sense in giving points (and showing these points also) for creating topics on this forum? People now create few new topics for the same subject and they multiplies like rabbits. To extremely difficult navigation in this forum then here adds a lot unnecessary new topics, which make navigation even more difficult. What is the benefit of this for forum users?

Thank you for your feedback, maxi!

As it is common on many other forums as well I’ve activated a point system.

Please find details at the thread points and reward system for members at TelTalk.

In addition I’m happy if members follow my request not to open new threads when a topic is already in discussion.

When I identify identical topics, I merge them.

In case anybody notices these cases, you can help me by just mentioning it inside of the topic, because I read every new entry on this forum and move posts into the right topic and / or category.
